EVERY VOICE MATTERS
“Every Voice Matters”, IDC’s current outreach workshop geared for grades 5-8, uses writing, visual art and movement to help students identify what is important to them and to give them a creative avenue to express their thoughts. With the guidance of outreach coordinator Amber Mazurana, each workshop is customized to fit into each school’s curriculum, drawing upon essays that the students have written as a jumping off point for art and dance.
This program was launched in the spring of 2010 at Lesher IB World School and during the 2010-2011 school year we visited four schools in PSD. This year we are hoping to reach a total of 6 to 8 schools in PSD. IDC’s approach is to emphasize that,
“Everyone has beliefs that shape who they are, and that every voice matters.”
